Crane Operator Training

The person operating your crane ultimately determines the safety record and the operating efficiency of your lifting equipment. For this reason, Standard Crane & Hoist offers Overhead Crane Operator training courses. Attendees of Standard Crane & Hoist Operator training will learn the responsibilities associated with operating your specific equipment, including:

  1. Compliance with OSHA 1910.179 regulations pertaining to crane operators
  2. Nomenclature and selection of appropriate equipment and below-the-hook accessories
  3. Operational limits of the equipment
  4. Pre-Operating inspection criteria
  5. Overview of wire rope
  6. Accidents: Causes and Prevention
  7. Correct use of hand signals
  8. Handling the load
  9. Safe rigging practices
  10. Sling loading and stresses
  11. Center of gravity
  12. Establishing load limits
  13. Documenting inspection and condition reports.

This training is very comprehensive and is normally conducted in small group settings of up to 12. The half-day course is taught by a highly qualified trainer. Students successfully completing the course, and their employers, will receive a certificate and wallet card acknowledging their qualifications to operate your equipment.
